CTOnews.com, July 13 (Xinhua)-- Hyundai today launched its first electric performance car, the Ioniq 5N, a high-performance electric hatchback with a "racing gene" that has been revamped by Hyundai's performance division N on the basis of the Ioniq 5, with a power output of more than 600hp and an acceleration of 0-100km / h in 3.4s.

The Ioniq 5N uses the same E-GMP electric platform as the standard version, but is equipped with a larger 84kWh battery, a custom all-wheel drive system and a set of technology to "integrate the driver and the car".

The standard power of the Ioniq 5 N is 600bhp and the torque is 545lb ft, which exceeds the Kia EV6 GT of 577bhp, which shares the platform with it. In "N Grin Boost" mode, the power can be increased to 641bhp, and the acceleration time for torque to reach 567lb ft,0-62mph is only 3.4 seconds, beating the BMW M3.

The appearance of Ioniq 5N is also very different from that of the normal version, lower and wider, with an increase in 80mm in length and 50mm in width. The front bumper has also been redesigned to have a more track-style look, with an active intake grille to cool the brakes. Wing spoilers, diffusers and air outlets are added at the top of the rear to optimize airflow and aerodynamics.

New bucket seats and a custom steering wheel have also been added, as well as a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and central control screen. In addition, the Ioniq 5N also simulates the gearbox and engine sounds of traditional gasoline cars, and there are actual vibrations when shifting gears to enhance driving fun.

The braking system of the Ioniq 5N has also been significantly improved to cope with the track scene. Hyundai combines its kinetic energy recovery system with a hydraulic braking system, which provides 40-50% of the braking force on the track and 80-90% on the road.

The Ioniq 5N has a 84kWh battery capacity and is expected to have a range of 200-220 miles. Thanks to the 800V architecture, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes.

It is reported that the Ioniq 5N will go on sale next year, the price has not been announced, is expected to be around 65000 pounds (600000 yuan).
