CTOnews.com Microsoft today released Windows 11 Canary Preview 25905, which introduces the Rust language into the kernel and brings some improvements. The Microsoft Store has also been updated to show the lowest prices. In addition to these officially announced changes, Microsoft has added a new TPM Troubleshooter option to Windows Security.

TPM is a trusted platform module, a chip-level security feature that protects computers from malware and hackers. Windows 11 requires that your PC support TPM 2.0 in order to install and run. However, sometimes users may encounter error messages such as "TPM information cannot be obtained, please contact the device manufacturer." At this point, TPM troubleshooting is required to resolve the problem.

As shown below, the Safety Processor Troubleshooting menu in the previous version 25314 is above and the menu in the new version 25905 is below. You can see that there is an additional "TPM troubleshooting" section below the error message. If an error message occurs, the Troubleshooter provides possible solutions.

Currently, this option is not available on all updated systems, so it may be rolling out gradually.

Microsoft has explained in detail the benefits of features such as TPM 2.0 and VBS (virtualization-based security), and has demonstrated how these features protect against cybersecurity threats such as hackers. However, security researchers recently discovered a vulnerability called "faulTPM" that bypasses fTPM on AMD Ryzen systems. Sometimes, defects in Windows components, such as Defender, can also cause the system to fail to detect TPM. There are also errors in TPM authentication.

CTOnews.com notes that a recent Microsoft executive hinted that future versions of Windows 11 may add more security processors similar to TPM.
