The Project V was designed by Anthony Jannarelly, the new chief designer of Caterham, and was built as an electric car from the start. Following the minimalist design concept of Caterham, the Project V is simple and lightweight and weighs about 1190 kilograms. With carbon fiber and aluminum alloy composite as the chassis, fully adjustable front and rear double-arm suspension and electric power steering are used. Caterham estimates that the car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 143mph (about 230.14 km / h).

The Project V display car has a unique 2x1 seat layout, or it can be equipped with a 2x2 layout. Caterham says this layout optimizes the comfort of rear passengers and provides greater flexibility. The dashboard of the car is very simple, and there are two round digital meters in front of the steering wheel. There are a series of joystick switches under the center console that allow the driver to switch between Normal, Sport and Sprint modes to adjust acceleration, suspension and steering.
