Judge Sidney Stein said in his sentence that "Clark mistakenly translated his belief that drugs should be legalized into substantive help to criminal organizations, resulting in a series of illegal acts."

Sidney Stein also said that Clark clearly intends to participate in the operation of the Silk Road website, and the verdict must reflect the inevitable consequences of his role as the leader of a large criminal organization.

At the end of the trial, Roger Thomas Clark was sentenced to confiscation of $1.6061 million (CTOnews.com) of ill-gotten gains and sentenced to 20 years in prison and three years of detention after his release.
