CTOnews.com July 12 news, Rufus today released a 4.2.4070 Beta version update, focusing on fixing the software crash after users tried to open the 32-bit (x86) version of Windows ISO image.

This update also adds detection and warning features for bootloaders with revoked UEFI.

This update will create a blacklist based on Secure Boot Forbidden Signature Database and Microsoft's Secure Boot DBX to block dangerous UEFI executables.

The new version also adds support for ZIP64, which means that users can now extract. Zip images larger than 4GB. Disks can now also be added or restored to compressed virtual hard disk v2 (VHDX) images, as well as experimental support for full Flash Update (FFU) images.

FFU is sector-based, unlike file-based WIM (Windows image file format), which means that FFU is deployed faster, although you end up with a larger file size.

Rufus is a tool that can help format and create bootable U disks, and can make boot disks for operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Android-x86, and so on.
