The aim is to make it as easy as possible for users who need to create their own accounts after being hit.

The new profile transfer (Profile Transfer) feature allows users to transfer their personalized recommendations, viewing history, my lists, saved games, and other settings from one user in one account to another.

In fact, Netflix launched the Profile Transfer feature in October last year, but previously it was only available for transfer from one account to another. Starting today, users can also transfer from one existing account to another:

In May, Netflix stepped up its crackdown on users sharing passwords among multiple homes and expanded it to the US market.

As far as CTOnews.com knows, Netflix now requires devices under the account to log on to the account's home Wi-Fi network at least once every 31 days to prevent users from sharing passwords with people outside the home.
