CTOnews.com, July 12, according to the latest data released by market research firm Canalys, the global PC market shipped 62.1 million units in the second quarter of 2023, down 11.5% from the same period last year and 11.9% month-on-month growth.

Canalys previously reported that shipments fell more than 30% year-on-year for two consecutive quarters, suggesting that the market is expected to accelerate its recovery in the second half of this year.

Of this total, laptop shipments were 49.4 million, down 9.3% from the same period last year, while desktop shipments were 12.6 million, down 19.3% from a year earlier.

Lenovo continued to lead the global PC market, but shipments fell 18 per cent year-on-year to 14.2 million units.

HP, which ranked second, performed strongly in the quarter, thanks to Chromebook's health sales in the United States. It shipped 13.4 million units worldwide, with a flat performance.

Dell remained in third place, but its market share fell by more than two percentage points as shipments fell 22%.

Apple achieved the highest growth among major suppliers in the second quarter of 2023, with shipments up 51% from a year earlier.
