CTOnews.com, July 11 (Reuters)-US auto safety investigators said today that they are investigating 346000 Ford Escape SUV vehicles because of welding defects in their door components, which may cause the doors to open inadvertently while the car is moving.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the US official website of ▲, said it had received 118 questionnaires indicating that the front door limit bracket of the 2020-2021 Ford Escape SUV may have spot welding problems.

NHTSA said it had received 25 reports of minor injuries and one report of minor property damage related to problems with the normal operation of the doors.

CTOnews.com learned from Ford's US website that 2022 and 2023 Escape SUV models are currently on sale, of which 2022 models start at $27185 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 197000 yuan).

In addition, Ford's US official website previously issued a recall announcement, announcing a recall of some 2020, 2021 and 2022 Escape SUV, and providing users with free pick-up, maintenance and delivery services. Ford pointed out at the time that these models were at risk of catching fire under the hood, melting engine parts or smoking.
