CTOnews.com July 11 news, recently a video claiming to be Tesla electric minibus prototype circulated online, video uploaded by content creator Jacob Orth, he claimed that this is a new Tesla passenger car designed for The Boring Company.

The car in the video has 12 seats, including the driver's seat, large areas of glass and Tesla logos on the steering wheel. The overall appearance looks like a shuttle bus that drives itself, and it is not clear whether there are wheels at the bottom. Orth called it a "secret Tesla van prototype designed for Elon Musk's Vegas Loop."

The car looks similar to a concept shown by The Boring Company in 2017, a 12-passenger passenger car designed for its Vegas Loop. Vegas Loop is an underground tunnel system built by The Boring Company to provide fast, convenient, and low-cost transportation.

Tesla's plans for electric vans, minibuses or robot taxis were first proposed in 2016 and mentioned in Tesla's Part II Master Plan. At the time, Musk mentioned two new areas Tesla wanted to electrify: heavy trucks and "high-density urban transportation." The former has been implemented in December 2022 in the form of Tesla Semi trucks, and the latter is still under development (possibly).

Musk has also talked about Tesla's plans to build an electric minibus based on the Model X, but that project didn't materialize. Later, Tesla was rumored to be building a minivan like passenger car for Musk's The Boring Company. Currently, the tunnel uses Tesla Model Y and Model X cars, but the company has said in the past that it could build a 12-passenger car for the LVCC loop.

The identity of the vehicle in the video has not been confirmed, and if a content creator was able to shoot and post the video, which could mean he got permission, speculation Tesla will soon publish the information, CTOnews.com will stay tuned.
