Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of clues about the past. CTOnews.com news on July 11, the Hong Kong Special Administrative region Government issued a press release today announcing that the Chief Executive in Council today approved the adjustment of the terms of the land lease for petrol filling stations to promote the transformation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative region to the use of electric and new energy vehicles.

According to the bulletin consulted by ▲, PexelsCTOnews.com learned that the main amendments to the terms of the land lease for petrol filling stations include:

1. Provide appropriate incentives for current gas station operators to install electric vehicle charging facilities.

2. Shorten the new land lease life of gas stations from 21 years to 12 years.

3. If fast charging stations are provided in gas stations, the land leases of gas stations that expire or are about to expire will receive conditional short-term renewal.

4. Allow the government to set a ceiling on the charging price of electric commercial vehicles.

A spokesman for the Hong Kong SAR Government said: "under the package, we will stop newly registered fuel and hybrid private cars by 2035. In view of changing market conditions and changing market demand, the Government has reviewed the existing land deed policy for petrol filling stations to ensure adequate and reliable vehicle fuel supply and charging services."

According to the Hong Kong SAR government, the Hong Kong government has been adopting a multi-pronged approach to establish a comprehensive and widely distributed fast charging network to support electric vehicles, especially electric commercial vehicles such as electric taxis and public light buses. The adjustment of the lease conditions will help to make more effective use of the available space at about 180 petrol filling stations in Hong Kong to serve electric vehicles.
