CTOnews.com Omdia, a market research company, recently released a report saying that the OLED display panel market will grow more than 10 times from last year to next year, and the strong demand for game displays is the main reason for its rapid development.

▲ The Pexels report predicts that global OLED display panel shipments will increase from 160,000 in 2022 to 800,000 this year, and will reach 1.74 million by 2024, a surge of more than 10 times in two years. Omdia also predicts that global OLED display panel shipments will reach 2.3 million in 2025 and 2.77 million in 2026.

The report points out that the rapid growth of OLED display panels has benefited from the rising demand for gaming displays. OLED panels offer sharper, fuller image quality and faster response times than traditional LCD panels.

With the introduction of more 200-300Hz high refresh rate, large size OLED esports displays, OLED panels 'share of the 4K esports display market is growing rapidly. OLED panels are expected to grow from 7.3% in 2022 to 32.1% this year, 54% next year and 61% in 2025, and OLED panels will gradually become the mainstream of the gaming display market.

CTOnews.com previously reported that after Japanese display manufacturer JOLED announced bankruptcy in March, OLED display panels are currently dominated by Samsung and LG. Samsung Display currently supplies QD-OLED panels to major display manufacturers such as Samsung and Dell, while LG Display entered the market with 40-inch OLED panels in 2022 and began mass production of 27-inch and 45-inch ultra-wide OLED panels dedicated to games early this year for brands such as LG, ASUS and Corsair.
