CTOnews.com July 11 news, Mercedes-Benz Group today released second-quarter sales figures. Thanks to demand for pure electric and high-end cars, the company's second-quarter sales rose 6 per cent year-on-year to 515700 units.

▲ chart source Pexels data also showed that Mercedes-Benz sales increased in all major markets (Europe, Asia and North America) in the second quarter, including 23 per cent in Germany, 12 per cent in China and 6 per cent in the US. In the rest of the world, second-quarter sales fell 12% to 20700 vehicles.

Electric vehicles continued to be the main driver of Mercedes-Benz growth this quarter, with pure electric passenger car sales up 123% to 56300 units. In addition, the high-end market segment, including AMG, Maybach and G-class models, also achieved solid growth of 12% in the second quarter.
