But in the field of EV, Japanese brands have less influence, while Chinese companies continue to step up their offensive, and BYD officially entered the Australian market in 2022.

In Thailand, Japanese car companies usually account for 80% of new car sales, and Japanese car companies such as Toyota have been producing cars in Thailand since the 1960s. However, Toyota's all-electric bZ4X and Nissan's all-electric Leaf both sell poorly in Thailand, with monthly sales in the single digits.
