CTOnews.com July 11 news, China Automobile Association now released the latest auto industry production and sales data report in June 2023.

In June this year, China's automobile production and sales completed 256.1 and 2.622 million vehicles respectively, an increase of 9.8% and 10.1% respectively over the previous month, and an increase of 2.5% and 4.8% respectively over the same period last year.

From January to June, automobile production and sales completed 1324.8 and 13.239 million vehicles respectively, an increase of 9.3% and 9.8% respectively over the same period last year. Due to the high growth in production and sales driven by policies such as halving the purchase tax on fuel vehicles in June last year, the cumulative growth rate of production and sales in January-June was 1.8% and 1.3% lower than that in January-May.

The China Automobile Association pointed out that the overall automobile market was in a state of negative growth in the first quarter; since April, driven by the influence of a low base and multiple favorable factors in the same period, the automobile market has continued to improve, production and sales have continued to grow, and a cumulative high growth has been achieved in the first half of the year.

In June this year, automobile enterprises exported 382000 vehicles, down 1.7% from the previous month and an increase of 53.2% over the same period last year. In terms of car models, passenger vehicles exported 312000 this month, down 4.1 percent from the previous month, up 57.7 percent from the same period last year; commercial vehicle exports were 70,000, up 10.7 percent from the previous month, up 36 percent from the same period last year. The export of new energy vehicles was 78000, down 28.4% from the previous month, an increase of 1.7 times over the same period last year. From January to June, automobile companies exported 2.14 million vehicles, an increase of 75.7% over the same period last year.

In June, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 784,000 and 806000 respectively, an increase of 32.8% and 35.2% respectively over the same period last year, and the market share reached 30.7%. Among them, the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles hit an all-time high.

From January to June, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 378.8 million and 3.747 million respectively, an increase of 42.4% and 44.1% respectively over the same period last year, with a market share of 28.3%.

In the first half of this year, the total sales of the top 10 enterprise groups in new energy vehicle sales were 3.183 million, an increase of 58.8% over the same period last year, accounting for 85% of the total new energy vehicle sales, up 7.9% from the same period last year. With the listing of new energy models and the improvement of product performance, the competition in the industry intensifies, the differentiation of sales volume is more obvious, and the performance of car companies is accelerated. BYD sales continued to maintain a high growth rate from a high base, with cumulative sales of more than 1.2 million vehicles from January to June, up 95.9 per cent from a year earlier. Ideal and GAC have more than doubled the growth rate compared with the same period last year.
