CTOnews.com, July 10, according to Yonhap news agency, SK Hynix will provide a customized DRAM for Apple's new mixed reality (MR) head display Vision Pro, which will be used in conjunction with Apple's new chip "R1" for Vision Pro to achieve efficient information processing and immersive visual experience.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Apple called the Vision Pro a spatial computing device that can perform the functions of a traditional computer or iPhone in three-dimensional space. It comes with a new operating system, Vision OS, which controls the device through eyes, gestures and sound. It is also equipped with 12 cameras, 5 sensors and 6 microphones to capture the user's surroundings and present realistic virtual content in front of the user's eyes.

Apple first unveiled the Vision Pro at its annual global developer conference in early June and plans to launch it early next year. SK Hynix did not confirm the news of providing DRAM for Vision Pro, saying only that "customer information cannot be disclosed."
