CTOnews.com, July 10 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- workforce analysis and planning firm Visier recently conducted a survey of 3030 employees at more than 250 companies in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Germany. The results show that British employees who have used AI tools have saved an average of about 93 minutes a day. Based on this calculation, the AI tool can help employees save 390 hours per year.

Even so, ▲ source Pexels, more than half (56%) of respondents in the survey said their employers had not accepted AI tools or encouraged employees to use them to improve productivity.

In addition, more than half (53 per cent) of employees worry that AI could replace the skills they currently have, leading to widespread fears of layoffs at a time when governments are racing to establish appropriate protective regulation. About 2/3 (67 per cent) said that mastering AI skills was important for their future career development.

However, while AI has obvious benefits that are often advertised, 1/3 (36 per cent) of respondents believe that AI actually increases the stress they face at work, while a similar number of respondents expressed concern about AI accuracy (37 per cent) and data privacy risks (38 per cent).

Nearly a year after the release of the ChatGPT preview, people's feelings about the generative AI are still very mixed. Only 40 per cent of respondents expected work-life balance to improve as a result of AI tools, while others were either sceptical about technology or skeptical of hiring managers.

"Business leaders must be able to identify gaps in the skills of their employees and train them in emerging technologies such as but not limited to AI," said Ben Harris, director of Visier EMEA.

CTOnews.com had previously reported that UBS analyst Michael Brister in June quoted a report by Gartner, an IT research and consultancy, as saying that more than 100m people would work with generative AI in 2026.
