From January to June this year, a total of 3.544 million vehicles were wholesale, an increase of 43.7% over the same period last year. Retail sales of new energy vehicles in June were 665000, an increase of 25.2 percent over the same period last year and 14.7 percent month-on-month. Retail sales totaled 3.086 million vehicles so far this year, an increase of 37.3% over the same period last year.

According to the data, retail sales in the passenger car market reached 1.894 million in June 2023, down 2.6% from a year earlier and an 8.7% increase from the previous month. Retail sales continued to grow month-on-month from January to June this year, which has never been seen since the beginning of this century. Retail sales totaled 9.524 million vehicles from January to June this year, an increase of 2.7 per cent over the same period last year. In June, national passenger car manufacturers wholesale 2.236 million vehicles, an increase of 2.1 percent over the same period last year and 11.7 percent month-on-month. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 11.066 million vehicles have been wholesale, an increase of 8.7% over the same period last year.

According to the statistics of the Federation, 290000 passenger vehicles (including complete vehicles and CKD) were exported in June, an increase of 56 per cent over the same period last year and a decrease of 4 per cent from the previous month. From January to June, the export of passenger cars was 1.68 million, an increase of 92% over the same period last year. New energy vehicles accounted for 28% of the total exports in June. With the increase in export capacity, exports of independent brands reached 248000 in June, up 56 per cent from a year earlier and basically flat from a month earlier, while exports of joint ventures and luxury brands were 47000, up 55 per cent from the same period last year.

There are 16 models with wholesale sales of more than 20, 000 passenger vehicles in June (compared with the same period last year): Model Y 63043, BYD Qin 44239, BYD Song 42388, Xuanyi 38830, BYD 33935, BYD dolphin 31140, Model 3 30637, Longyi 28841, Camry 25898, Quteng 24496, Changan CS75 24356, BYD Han 23206, seagulls 23005, AION S 22487, Bo Yue 21564, Mai Teng 20920, Yiteng 20664, Yiteng 20664 20583 AION Y vehicles. Among them, the new energy parking space ranks among the top three in terms of overall passenger car sales, and its dominant position is obvious.

The domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in June was 35.1%, up 7.8 percentage points from 27.3% in the same period last year. In June, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in independent brands was 58.8%, that of luxury cars was 30.9%, and that of new energy vehicles in mainstream joint venture brands was only 3.7%. In terms of monthly domestic retail share, the retail share of mainstream independent brands of new energy vehicles in June was 69%, up 8% from the same period last year; the share of joint venture brand new energy vehicles was 4.8%, down 1.2% from the same period last year; and the share of new power was 12.8%, down 4% from the same period last year. Tesla's share was 11.2%, down 3.5 points from the same period last year.

In June, the wholesale sales of manufacturers exceeded 10,000 vehicles reached 13 (an increase of 1 month-on-month, 3 fewer than the same period last year), accounting for 82.7% of the total number of new energy passenger vehicles (82.1% last month, compared with 83.6% in the same period last year). Among them, 251685 are BYD, 93680 are Tesla China, 45013 are Guangzhou Auto Eian, 38566 are Geely, 36622 are Changan, 32575 are ideal, 30441 are SAIC GM Wuling, 27,449 are SAIC passenger vehicles, 26,643 are Great Wall cars, 13,209 are zero-running cars, 12,132 are Nashi cars, 10,707 are Lailai cars and 10,573 are Chery cars.

On July 3, the cumulative output of new energy vehicles in China exceeded 20 million, which is a major landmark event and represents the rise of the scale and strength of China's new energy vehicle industry. In September 2020, the cumulative output of new energy vehicles in China exceeded 5 million, and in February 2022, it exceeded 10 million. By the beginning of July this year, the cumulative output of new energy vehicles in China had exceeded 20 million, with remarkable achievements. Last year, the global production of new energy vehicles was 10.3 million, and China's second 10 million vehicles took only 17 months, reflecting China's super strength of 60% of the world's new energy share.
