Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, July 6 (Xinhua)-- according to MacRumors, Jeff Pu, a technology analyst at Haitong International Securities, a Hong Kong investment firm, said that the current possibility of iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max equipped with solid-state volume and mute buttons is "very low". Pu shared this prediction in a research report today, while also providing some details about the upcoming iPhone 15 series.

CTOnews.com noted that it was initially rumored that the iPhone 15 Pro would be equipped with solid-state buttons, but Apple reportedly faced "unresolved technical problems before mass production" and had to return to using mechanical buttons. Pu has previously said that solid-state buttons will be postponed to iPhone 16 Pro models, but he now believes that even these devices are unlikely to be equipped with solid-state buttons.

Cirrus Logic, an Apple supplier, hinted in a letter from shareholders last year that Apple's new phone would use solid-state buttons, but in May it seemed to confirm that the plan had been cancelled.

Solid-state buttons do not move when pressed, and it was rumored that two additional Taptic Engine in the iPhone would provide tactile feedback to simulate the sensation of vibration, similar to the Home key introduced in iPhone 7 and the Force Touch trackpad on the newer MacBook. The advantage of solid-state buttons is that they can reduce the number of moving parts that may be damaged, and may also improve water resistance.

The iPhone 16 Pro model is more than a year away, so Apple's plans for the device could still change.
