CTOnews.com, July 6 (Xinhua)-- Apple has been secretly developing its own car project. Although the project has not been officially confirmed, the company recently unveiled five new patent applications related to car audio systems, demonstrating its innovation and ambition in this area.

CTOnews.com noted that the five patent applications, covering everything from headrest, car door, mobile phone interconnection to spatial audio, are designed to provide the best audio experience for Apple car passengers.

One of the patent applications describes how to install speakers in the headrest and adjust the audio output according to the position of the passenger's head and ears to ensure that the passenger does not miss any sound by turning his head or sticking out the window.

Another patent application concerns how to install external speakers in the door and takes into account the impact on sound projection when the door is opened or closed.

In addition, when a user brings a portable electronic device (such as a mobile phone) into the vehicle, the vehicle can seamlessly receive audio content from the portable electronic device and produce better sound through the speakers in the car. If multiple passengers carry mobile phones at the same time, Apple cars will also provide functions such as shared playback, allowing passengers to share and control audio content with each other.

Apple will also apply its technology in space audio, a technology that simulates a three-dimensional sound field, to cars, making listeners feel that sound is coming from different directions. Apple has launched the technology on devices such as the iPhone and Vision Pro, and now plans to provide group space audio for cars. This means that Apple cars will be able to adjust the direction and effect of spatial audio according to the seat direction and preferences of different passengers. This is particularly important for self-driving cars, which may have a different seating layout than traditional cars, such as seats facing each other or central positions, so that passengers can communicate or interact with each other.

Although Apple has yet to officially confirm the existence of its car project, it can be seen from these patent applications that Apple is building an unprecedented sound system for its car.
