Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Daniel Wu in South China and new friends in soft media 1933769 for their clue delivery! CTOnews.com, July 6 (Xinhua) Motorola is planning to further expand its business in India, and has laid down a more detailed plan: mobile phone production in India will double in 2023 and quadruple by 2026.
Sergio Buniac, president of Motorola Mobility and senior vice president of Lenovo Mobile Business Group, said in an interview with LiveMint that Motorola plans to continue to increase its investment and marketing strategy in the next 1-3 years, with the ultimate goal of becoming one of the top three smartphone manufacturers in the world.
He further said, "to be one of the top three brands in the world, we must first become one of the top three brands in India, which means we need to double global sales in the next three years. But faster growth is needed in India, so we plan to double it this year and quadruple in the next three years."
To this end, Motorola plans to significantly increase the production and manufacturing capacity of mobile phones in the Indian market, and will achieve this goal through cooperation with Padget, a local electronics company, to produce handsets for the Indian market and to make India a central hub for Motorola handset exports to the United States, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
In addition, Motorola will also increase investment in product marketing and retail. According to the plan, services will be provided in more than 3000 stores in India in the next year, rising to 5000 within 15 months.
CTOnews.com noted that Motorola is building a second camera laboratory (the first in the United States) in Bangalore, India. In addition, Motorola has invested heavily in R & D in many countries, including India.
However, Chinese smartphone makers still dominate the Indian market, with nearly 70 per cent of the market. As for the high-end smartphone market, it is mainly dominated by brands such as Apple, Samsung and one plus.
