Amazon has invested heavily in streaming TV series, movies, sports shows, or licensed to promote Prime Video and Freevee, spending $7 billion in 2022 alone, but there are not many successful projects, and now Jassi is forced to think deeply about cost control.

Amazon's "Citadel" costs more than $250 million a season, but it has barely made the list of the top 10 most watched streaming shows in the United States since its launch, on a weekly basis, according to Nielsen.

In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount will provide content to Amazon customers through Prime Video Channels. Amazon typically gets only 50% of its channel subscription revenue.
