This helped the company increase its monthly sales to 15000 in the third quarter and more than 20000 in the fourth quarter, he added.

Xiaopeng unveiled the G6 at the Shanghai Auto Show in April, the company's first model based on its next-generation technology architecture, which will help reduce manufacturing costs.

Xiaopeng also focused on promoting its advanced auxiliary driving system, XNGP, which will enable drivers of G6 and other models to use auxiliary driving technology similar to Tesla's fully autonomous driving (FSD) on urban roads in China's major cities. Tesla launched FSD four years ago, but the service has not yet been launched in China.

Gu Hongdi said that the Xiaopeng G6 has introduced the most advanced driving assistance technology into the electric car market, which sells for less than 250000, which will further enhance Xiaopeng's attractiveness to consumers: "We always believe that smart driving technology will become the real differentiation factor for mobile travel in the future. The debut of the G6 proves this and gives us confidence."

The price of the Xiaopeng G6 was officially announced last Thursday, with a minimum starting price of 209900 yuan, which sent Xiaopeng's Hong Kong shares up more than 20 per cent.
