CTOnews.com July 5 news, Hon Hai Group today released second-quarter (April-June) revenue figures, second-quarter revenue reached 1.3 trillion New Taiwan dollars (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 301.6 billion yuan), down 13.8% year-on-year, in line with previous expectations.

Tuyuan Pexels Hon Hai Group said in a statement that consumer electronics products, including smartphones, were the main drivers of the company's business growth, and the decline in revenue in the second quarter was mainly due to a high base in the same period last year. Hon Hai's monthly sales in June were NT $422.8 billion (currently about 98.09 billion yuan), down 19.7% from a year earlier, but still the second highest in history.

Looking to future performance, Hon Hai Group stressed that with the arrival of the peak sales season in the second half of the year, revenue performance will pick up somewhat. The company expects a better outlook for the third quarter than in the second quarter, and expects month-on-month growth to be higher than in the previous two years, reaching its pre-epidemic growth rate.

The performance of Taiwan's technology manufacturers has always been weak in the first half of the year, as major electronics suppliers, including Apple, tend to launch new products during the year-end holiday in the second half of the year (around Christmas and New year). Hon Hai will officially announce its second-quarter earnings results on August 14.
