CTOnews.com, July 5 (Xinhua)-- Japan's Ministry of Education (Ministry of Education) issued a guiding bill on June 22 to allow the limited use of ChatGPT-like generative artificial intelligence in primary, junior and senior high schools, Kyodo News reported.

The Japanese industry is generally optimistic about AI, and there are already many companies actively engaged in related technology research and development. For example, Softbank Corp. is betting on AI and is currently developing a Japanese version of ChatGPT.

▲ Kyodo News Agency, for its part, Japanese education circles are currently making such attempts, but considering that the use of generative AI may stifle students' creativity and motivation for learning, the guidance Act also requires pupils (under the age of 13) to be particularly cautious when using AI. Any assignment generated by AI, once judged, will be regarded as cheating.

The guidance Act states that students should use generative AI to analyze the classroom and get more ideas from it. Students and teachers should also evaluate themselves through AI to avoid being confined to self-thinking.

After inquiry, CTOnews.com learned that the guidance bill is still in the experimental stage, and the Japanese Ministry of Education will select a number of secondary schools for corresponding tests before the autumn, so it may also be revised based on students' feedback.
