CTOnews.com July 5 news, Godson previously said that the company's latest 3A6000 desktop processor has been out of the chip and has undergone preliminary testing, and now Godson engineers are adapting to Linux, submitting a number of patches to add support for 3A6000 processors for Linux 6.5.

It is reported that the features of these patches include:

Initial enable of ClangBuiltLinux

Support for cloning time namespaces (time namespace)

Support Vector extension (vector extensions)-128bit LSX (Loongson SIMD eXtension) and 256bit LASX (Loongson Advanced SIMD eXtension)

Support for hyperthreading SMT (Simultaneous Multi-Threading)

Support for dbar with different hints

Support for hardware page table traversal (hardware page table walker)

Implement jump-label

Rethook and Uprobes are supported.

According to the patch submitted by ▲, 3A6000 based on Dragon Architecture (LoongArch) will be a quad-core and eight-thread processor.

CTOnews.com has reported that Godson 3A6000 is the first general CPU product independently developed in China to support SMT technology, which integrates four LA664 cores designed independently by Godson, and each physical core has two logical cores.

It is reported that the 3A6000 processor is 2.5GHz, with quad-core, dual DDR4-3200 memory channel, high IPC, single-thread fixed-point base score of more than 40 points, floating-point score of more than 50 points, multi-thread fixed-point score of more than 140,130 points.

Godson Zhongke said that based on the current judgment, the performance of Godson 3A6000 can be comparable to the AMD Zen 2 architecture manufactured by 7nm process, and its performance is equivalent to Intel's 10-generation core processor.

Godson released 3A4000 per GHz performance for the first time close to AMD Zen1,3A5000 in 2019 mainly due to the replacement of the LoongArch architecture, resulting in a further 10% improvement in IPC.

At present, Godson still has 16-core 3C6000 and 32-core 3D6000 processors under development, but they have not yet been filtered. Godson also mentioned earlier that its first large and small nuclear synergy chip (which should be the 3B6000) is scheduled to be released in 2024, but the coordination problem needs to be solved by hardware and software.
