CTOnews.com, July 5 (Xinhua)-- Framework plans to launch a 16-inch Laptop 16 large screen model later this year, with graphics cards, storage, screens, keyboards and other parts that can be replaced by individual users.

Framework shares the progress of the new machine from time to time, and officials recently unlocked memory and storage options. The summary information of CTOnews.com is as follows:

Memory Framework Laptop 16 is equipped with 2 DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, each of which supports up to 32GB memory, meaning that users can plug in up to DDR5-5600 memory using 64GB.

Framework Laptop 16 will be available in three memory specifications: 8GB, 16GB and 32GB, but the price has not been officially announced.

In terms of storage, the Framework Laptop 16 comes with two M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots, one with a 2280 hard drive with the highest 8TB and the other with a 2230 hard drive with the highest 2TB.

Framework Laptop 16 comes with Western Digital SN810 SSD, and the sequential reading speed is 6.6GB/s.

The company has previously confirmed that customers can add M.2 slots using expansion ports to increase maximum storage capacity to 16TB. The company also sells budget SSD options for 256GB and 1TB, which read at 1GB / s.

The shell skeleton Framework Laptop 16 is extremely rugged, with magnesium alloy and machined aluminum parts, with a standard thickness of less than 18mm and a unique plate thickness of less than 21mm.

The notebook shell consists of two core mechanical components: the magnesium alloy bottom cover and the CNC aluminum top cover. Both parts are produced by Framework in cooperation with Catcher Technology, one of the advanced shell manufacturers.

Screen this notebook features a semi-custom screen with 2560x1600 resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, variable refresh rate up to 165Hz, 1500 165Hz 1 contrast and 500 nits brightness. The display module can also be replaced by itself.
