CTOnews.com July 5, Samsung recently held a Samsung Foundry / SAFE Forum event in Seoul, South Korea, and announced a foundry strategy to further strengthen the AI semiconductor ecosystem.

Touyuan: at the SAFE forum, Sanxing Samsung announced that it has established a close cooperative relationship with more than 100 partners, and demonstrated the PDK Prime solution, building a cutting-edge product design infrastructure for the 8-inch to cutting-edge 2-nanometer GAA process to help customers succeed together.

Figure Source: Samsung has demonstrated PDK Prime solutions that further enhance the ease of use of PDK and help customers design efficient products. It will provide 2 nm and 3 nm processes to fab-free customers in the second half of this year, and will expand to 8-inch and 12-inch traditional processes in the future.

Samsung said that in the PDK Prime solution, the static device Voltage Checker (SDVC) can check whether the voltage of transistors, resistors, capacitors and other internal semiconductors is designed according to the standard within 10 minutes. Compared with the previous, the rated voltage error detection time is reduced by more than 90%.

Samsung first launched the MPW service in advanced 4nm technology in April, which can be used in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and mobile product design, and will support the service three times in August and December this year.

Samsung plans to expand prototype design opportunities for domestic and foreign fab customers in 2024 to provide MPW services including 4nm, an increase of 10 per cent over this year.
