According to CTOnews.com news on July 4, Tencent Sogou Input has launched a "tactile input" typing form for visually impaired users, which, according to officials, can improve typing efficiency by 20%.

Tactile input typing is a differential vibration mode pioneered by Tencent team, which provides vibration feedback for visually impaired users by adding special vibration effects to anchor characters on the keyboard (such as E, S, C keys). Thus, it is convenient for visually impaired users to quickly identify the content of the touched characters through the vibration feedback obtained by their fingers without relying entirely on the voice reading screen when entering scenes such as noisy environments.

This technology (CTOnews.com Note: developed by Tencent Games Terminal Technology Optimization Project) uses different combinations of vibration duration, frequency and intensity of terminal devices (such as mobile phones, tablets, etc.) to transmit differentiated messages to visually impaired users.

By combining tactile input typing with barrier-free input scenarios, visually impaired users can obtain information more comprehensively; at the same time, it can further solve the problems such as inconvenient device interaction and privacy leakage.
