CTOnews.com, July 4 (Xinhua)-- according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the wealth of the top 500 richest people in the world increased by $852 billion in the first half of this year, earning an average of $14 million a day (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 101 million yuan). This is the best half-year performance of these tycoons since the second half of 2020.

In the context of the general rise in major stock indexes, the tech giants have become the biggest winners. Tesla and Elon Musk, chief executive of SpaceX, have increased their wealth by nearly $97 billion this year to $237 billion, making them the richest people in the world. It was closely followed by Bernard Arnault, chief executive and co-founder of LVMH, the French luxury goods group, who have been the richest man in the world since the end of last year. In addition, Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta (formerly Facebook), has increased his wealth by nearly $60 billion thanks to a nearly 80 per cent rise in the company's share price.

However, not all billionaires can enjoy the market dividend. Gautam Gautam Adani, an Indian businessman, was the biggest loser this year, shrinking his wealth by $60.2 billion. On January 24, Adani Group was severely accused by Hindenburg Research, the US short seller, that the group had been engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud for decades. Adani denied the allegations.

At Monday's close, the s & p 500 was up 0.12% at 4455.59, while the NASDAQ was up 0.2% at 15208.69.
