CTOnews.com, July 4 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest data, Apple Music has 32.6 million subscribers in the United States, ranking second only to Spotify (44.4 million). The figures were revealed by David Israelite, CEO and president of the National Association of Music Publishers (NMPA) at the annual meeting.

Apple Music, Apple's music streaming service, was launched in June 2015. Apple rarely publishes user data on its music service, which was last released in June 2019, when Apple said it had 60 million subscribers worldwide.

Spotify, the world's largest music streaming service, announced in March that it had 210 million global subscribers, with the US accounting for about 25 per cent of the market. Spotify still maintains a leading position in the US market, but Apple Music is not far behind.

In addition to Apple Music and Spotify, the top five music streaming services in the United States include Amazon Music, YouTube Music and Pandora. Amazon Music ranked third with 29.3 million subscribers, YouTube Music ranked fourth with 8.5 million subscribers, and Pandora ranked fifth with 2.4 million subscribers.
