After the founder of Stability AI "stole the code to build a $1 billion empire scam" was skinned for less than a month, it was recently exposed that there was a big change at the top.

Two executives, David Ha, head of research (head of research) and Ren Ito, chief operating officer (chief operating officer), have left Stability AI, according to Bloomberg.

Neither of the two Japanese executives has been at Stability AI for more than a year and the reasons for their departure have not been disclosed.

Before joining Stability AI, David Ha spent six years and four months at Google, where he was responsible for machine learning in the Google Brain department.

Since October last year, David Ha has joined Stability AI as a research director in charge of the company's work.

After leaving, David Ha himself tweeted that "I finally have time to get a good night's sleep", which makes people wonder if stability AI's work is too intense.

Ren Ito, by contrast, has been at Stability AI for a shorter period of six months.

In response to the reasons for his departure, Emad Mostaque, chief executive of Stability AI, said it was one of the company's restructuring measures.

Stability AI spokesman Motez Bishara wrote in an emailed statement:

We can confirm that David Ha temporarily left Stability AI,Ren Ito for personal reasons and left in pursuit of other interests. We wish them all the best and thank them for their contribution to Stability AI. "

Mostak said:

Ito's departure is part of a broad restructuring of the company, which is a big reshuffle, and we are restructuring our leadership as we grow in size.

When the two executives left one after another, Emad Mostaque immediately announced the appointment of two newcomers on Twitter.

He said:

Stability AI needs to recruit new employees and expand its scale. As the company grows in size, we are also restructuring our leadership and are expected to increase the number of employees to 185 or more.

It is worth mentioning that while the turnover of technology companies is not uncommon, David Ha and Ren Ito are not the only executives who have been at Stability AI for less than a year.

In October last year, Christian Cantrell, who worked at Adobe for nearly 20 years, joined Stability AI as vice president of products, where he was mainly responsible for overseeing Stability AI's application programming interface and its DreamStudio software products.

Last September, futurist Daniel Jeffries announced that he had joined Stability AI as chief information officer.

After seven months in office, Daniel Jeffries chose to leave in March this year, saying that after 25 years of uninterrupted work, he was in urgent need of a vacation.

In addition to the frequent personnel upheaval, in the past year, a number of overseas media have said that Stability AI has internal turnover difficulties, chaotic management and other business problems.
