CTOnews.com, July 3. A few days ago, netizens on NeoGAF, an overseas game forum, found important information about Sony's latest console from a document submitted by Microsoft at a FTC hearing.

The Xbox Series S sells for $50 less than the Switch OLED, and PlayStation also sells a lower-priced digital version for $399.99 (CTOnews.com Note: about 2904 yuan), and the PlayStation 5 Slim is expected to be released at the same price later this year.

It is also worth noting that Microsoft expects the price of Sony's upcoming Project Q-streaming handset to be less than $300 (currently about 2178 yuan).

CTOnews.com had previously reported that there had been earlier revelations that Sony Playstation 5 would get a smaller redesigned version this year, but it might not be called PS5 Slim. Its appearance has changed significantly, and the new "ultra-thin" version reduces the size of the game console mold and uses less voltage, so it runs at a lower temperature and is lighter.

Tom Henderson, the whistleblower, said in December that Sony was developing a slightly modified PS5, which is already being tested and "works perfectly", and that the new PS5 is expected to be launched around September 2023.

The new mainframe will provide a removable CD-ROM drive. The removable optical drive will be connected to PlayStation 5 through an additional USB-C port on the back of the host.
