Cost-effective 2P VR Pancake optical machine module released to create a more open, immersive sensory experience
Optical module has always been regarded as one of the most critical components in VR equipment. AAC Technology has always been in the industry leading level in the exploration and application of ultra-short focus optical folded optical path (Pancake) solution, and has achieved a series of major breakthroughs in thinning, imaging quality, IPD automatic adjustment, diopter adjustment and so on. During the MWC exhibition, AAC Technology brought a brand new 2P VR Pancake optical machine module. The standard product of 2P VR Pancake optical mechanical module has five advantages: large FOV, large Eye box, compatible IPD adjustment, diopter adjustment and high performance-to-price ratio. The total length of the optical lens TTL is compressed to within the 19mm, which further makes the volume of the VR head lighter and thinner. With 2.56 inch Fast-LCD (2160 × 2160 pixels), FOV is 100 degrees, Eye-Box reaches 12mm, which keeps the visual experience stable and the best display range; it supports 0-700 °diopter adjustment, which is more friendly to myopic users and can be used without glasses.
2P VR Pancake standard scheme, which takes into account the comprehensive balance of optical performance and cost, is a cost-effective VR optical scheme in the industry at present. At the same time, based on this scheme, the customer demand optical machine module can be customized flexibly and quickly, and the configuration of different screens can further improve the performance-to-price ratio.
In addition to 2P standard products, AAC Technology can also provide customers with 1-3P Pancake diversification, various sizes of Fast-LCD and Micro-OLED optical solutions, flexible to meet customer customized development services. During this exhibition, AAC also demonstrated the 3P Pancake VR optical module. The product has five advantages: lightweight, large field of view, ghost suppression, diopter adjustment and clear edge image quality, which can bring higher quality images and more comfortable use experience. At present, 3P VR Pancake optical machine module has achieved mass production and has been successfully applied on a large scale in mainstream VR products.
At the exhibition site, the IPD electric stepless adjustment module (IPD adjustment range 58mm-68mm) and the industry's first binocular independent electric diopter adjustment module (supporting 0700 °binocular independent diopter adjustment) are also on display at the same time. Users can make more accurate adjustment by pressing the button or in the UI interface without removing the head display, with simple operation and real-time human eye feedback, to get a clear and comfortable wearing experience.
At the same time, based on the interactive experience of VR devices, AAC also brings the 6DoF handle solution. The technical solution of the product is based on the mainstream optical infrared positioning system, which integrates 6DoF SDK and handle hardware. The RT6010 driver chip and ultra-wideband linear motor developed by AAC are integrated on the handle hardware to bring more delicate and real functions such as tactile feedback, resistance adjustment and attitude recognition; algorithmically, it achieves sub-millimeter positioning accuracy and millisecond positioning speed, realizes the handle tracking function based on vision and inertia, accurately captures the position and direction of the handle in space, and improves the degree of freedom and accuracy of user operation. The low-power design makes the battery life as long as 20 hours. At the same time, the technical solution of the product has stronger compatibility, and can be compatible with different configurations of head display binocular and four purposes at the same time; the platform is also compatible with mainstream Qualcomm XR2 and RK3588 to meet the needs of more products with different configurations.
The monolayer color optical waveguide lens is displayed for the first time, bringing a more transparent, lighter and clearer wearing experience.
In the aspect of VR / AR optical display, AAC not only laid out the technical route of the Pancake optical mechanical scheme, but also made a great breakthrough in the development of optical waveguides.
At the exhibition site, AAC Technology demonstrated the industry's leading single-layer color optical waveguide lenses for the first time. It uses the leading process technology of nano-imprint + etching technology, combined with high refractive index materials, in the form of non-pure surface relief grating, to achieve higher light efficiency, stronger resolution, better color uniformity and other optical properties, the overall light efficiency exceeds 310nits / lm, and the light transmittance is as high as 90%. At the same time, the thickness and weight of the waveguide lens are reduced by more than 50%, and it is compatible with a variety of FOV from 30 °to 50 °. The product is jointly developed by AAC Technology and Dispelix, a manufacturer of optical waveguides. Through the balance between single-layer optical waveguide lens setting and large-angle high-definition, it meets the needs of users in multiple application scenarios and makes the wearing experience of thin and high-definition go hand in hand.
A variety of new technology solutions such as AR-HUD and intelligent audio glasses have been released for the first time.
Relying on the deep accumulation in the field of optics and the exploration in the field of intelligent cockpit in recent years, AAC Technology layout intelligent cockpit optical business has brought a new generation of vehicle AR-HUD prototype based on DLP technology. Through the compact structural design, the volume of AAC AR-HUD is only 13L, and it can project a large frame of 60 inches at 7.5m ahead, covering a large field of view angle of 11 °× 5.5 °, and the image distortion is less than 1%. It also has the characteristics of 1152 × 576 high resolution, high brightness of 12000nits and high contrast of 1000, no matter it is sunny or rainy. By correcting binocular parallax and dynamic distortion, the feeling of vertigo is avoided and the comfort is greatly improved. AAC AR-HUD provides rich scene applications such as AR navigation and safety-assisted driving, helping to improve intelligent driving safety and achieve a more immersive interactive experience.
