According to NASA officials, Smart flew 363m on its 52nd flight, with a flight time of 139 seconds. The main goal of the flight was to reposition the helicopter and take pictures of the scientific team of the perseverance.

Team members said that the flight data just received showed that the Smart was still in good condition. If further tests confirm this, the helicopter could fly again in the coming weeks.

Dexterity and the perseverance rover, which looked for signs of life and collected samples, landed in the Jazelo crater in February 2021, and Smart quickly completed its main mission of five flights, demonstrating the feasibility of aerial exploration on Mars. Dexterity then began an extended mission, during which it acted as a scout for perseverance.
