The project is located in the south-central part of Shandong Province and the north of Jiangsu Province, running from Weifang City, Shandong Province, through Rizhao City and Linyi City of Shandong Province, and Xuzhou City of Jiangsu Province to Suqian City, with a total length of 399.3 km (CTOnews.com Note: 325.2 km in Shandong Province and 74.1km in Jiangsu Province), with a design speed of 350km / h, a construction period of four and a half years and 12 stations.

The railway department said that the construction of the Weisu high-speed railway can speed up the formation of the auxiliary channel of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway and the Hefei-Qingdao high-speed railway channel, improve the layout of the regional high-speed railway network, and alleviate the shortage of transport capacity of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail. it is of positive significance to improve the traffic infrastructure conditions along the line and promote the integrated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration and Yangtze River Delta region.
