CTOnews.com July 1 news, according to South Korean media The Elec reported that LG Innotek plans to invest 1.3 trillion won (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 7.15 billion yuan), in Vietnam Haiphong (Haiphong) expansion of a camera module production line.

CTOnews.com quoted the media report as saying that the production line will be completed in the second half of 2024 and put into mass production in 2025, which will provide camera modules for Apple iPhone.

LG Innotek is one of Apple's key camera suppliers, and once this line is put into operation, it will double the camera module capacity of the Vietnam factory.

LG Innotek's Vietnam plant currently accounts for 30% of the company's total camera module production, with the remaining 70% produced at its Gumi and Paju plants in South Korea. Elec said the investment is focused on meeting the demand for camera modules for Apple iPhone models.
