CTOnews.com July 1, Red Hat said that because some IT enterprises need longer deployment and upgrade, it has announced the addition of 4 years of extended Life support (ELS) for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL 7).

Red Hat said the delay is mainly due to the epidemic, allowing more people to telecommute from home, businesses and organizations need more support for instant messaging, video conferencing, file sharing, corporate social networks and so on.

CTOnews.com Note: RHEL 7, which was released in 2014 with a 10-year support cycle, was originally scheduled to end support on July 1, 2024, and Red Hat has now announced a four-year extension.

Red Hat requires enterprises to upgrade to the RHEL 7.9 release and also maintains the Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Solutions, Red Hat Enterprise Linux High Availability, and Resilient Storage plug-ins.
