CTOnews.com, June 30, AMD officially released 7040U series processors in May this year, including R7 7840U and other four models, ranging from 4-core to 8-core models.

R7 7840U:8C16T 5.1GHz + 12CU 2.7GHz

R5 7640U:6C12T 4.9 GHz + 8CU 2.6GHz

R5 7540U:6C12T 4.9 GHz + 4CU 2.5GHz

R3 7440U:4C8T 4.7GHz + 4CU 2.5GHz

According to VideoCardz, both R7 7840U and R57640U use 178mm ²CCD chip area design, while R3 7440U and some R57540U use smaller CCD chips with a size of 137mm ², which is 23% smaller.

Sources said that this series of processors should be the previously rumored Phoenix2, using the Zen4c architecture, CPU up to 6 cores, kernel display the highest 4CU.

At present, the devices with R7 7840U, R5 7640U and R57540U are on the market, while the devices with R37440U are not yet on the market.
