CTOnews.com June 30 news, SAIC MG today announced a new preferential rental service, allowing French users to rent MG4 electric vehicles (domestic MG MULAN) for 99 euros per month (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 782 yuan). The offer, which runs from July 1 to August 31, is a partnership between SAIC MG and Credit Agricole.

▲ Source SAIC Mingjue refers to this plan as its own "social leasing" service. "Social rental" is a service being planned by the French government to make electric cars cheaper. The plan has been delayed several times because French authorities fear it will benefit mainly Asian brands and not help electric cars produced in Europe.

Reuters quoted sources as saying that the French government's "social lease" plan will be launched later this year and officially implemented in 2024. The first European-made economy electric cars will hit the market, including Strantis 'Citroen e-C3 and Renault's R5.

According to Avere-France, the French electric car association, the MG4, imported from China, ranked fifth among France's best-selling electric cars in May.
