CTOnews.com, June 30 (Xinhua)-- astronomers have recently discovered a planet that "should not exist"-8 UMi b. Located 520 light-years from Earth, the planet was discovered by Korean astronomers in 2015 and named Halla.

CTOnews.com Note: the distance between Halla and Baekdu is half the distance between the earth and the sun, or 42759659 miles (68815020 km).

Astronomers have observed that the star Baekdu has experienced rapid aging and expansion, and the helium in the star's core is burning, indicating that it once expanded into a red giant.

Baekdu, which swelled to 1.5 times the width of the planet's orbit, was supposed to "swallow" Halla and then shrink back to its current size, but Halla was actually observed to be operating normally.

The scene is similar to the movie wandering Earth, mainly because the sun begins to age and expand rapidly, pushing the Earth out of the solar system, and the planet survives in such a scene.
