Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens, soft media new friends 2010825, Mr_C_rM, Terrence, South China Daniel Wu, EdgeOS for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com June 30, Microsoft today pushed Build 23493 updates to Windows 11 Dev preview users, bringing a number of new and improved content.
Windows Copilot Preview Microsoft launched Windows Copilot, the AI assistant for Windows 11, at the Build conference in May, and now this version finally has an early preview version of Windows Copilot.
The first preview focuses on the integrated UI experience, and more features will be released in future previews. To use Copilot, users must upgrade to Windows 11 Dev Preview Build 23493 or later, and 115.0.1901.150 or later of Microsoft Edge.
Users only need to click the new button (or WIN + C) on the taskbar to start Windows Copilot. Windows Copilot will log in using either a Microsoft account or an Azure Active Directory account.
Windows Copilot will appear as docked in the sidebar on the right, will not overlap with desktop content, and will run separately next to the open application window, where users can interact with Windows Copilot at any time.
In the first preview, users can ask Windows Copilot a series of questions or take the following actions:
"switch to dark mode."
"do not disturb when it is turned on."
"Screenshot."
"summarize this site." (activities tab in Microsoft Edge)
"write a story about dogs living on the moon."
"take a picture of a tranquil koi pond and sleeping lotus leaves."
In addition, Windows Copilot and Bing Chat generate context-sensitive responses and improve the user experience in Windows.
Note that not everything displayed in Build for Windows Copilot is included in the first early preview. For example, Windows Copilot has a basic set of Windows settings plug-ins, but there is no third-party plug-in support (available later).
Windows Copilot will only be available for some Dev preview users, so there is a probability that CTOnews.com partners will not be able to experience it after upgrading.
New Settings Home Page Microsoft has introduced a new home page in Settings to provide an overview of the device, quick access to key settings, and help users manage their Microsoft accounts.
In the settings, Microsoft creates interactive cards that represent various devices and account-related settings, and groups them by common functions. Each card is optimized to provide users with the most relevant information and controls. In this version, users can see up to seven cards, and more cards will be released soon:
Recommended settings: this card adapts to the specific usage mode of the user, provides timely and relevant setting options, and aims to simplify the user's setting management and save user time.
Cloud storage: provides users with an overview of cloud storage usage.
Account recovery: make your Microsoft account more secure by helping users add additional recovery information, so that the account will not be locked even if the user forgets his password.
Personalization: update the background theme or change the color mode by providing one-click access.
Microsoft 365: allows users to quickly understand subscription status and benefits, and to perform some key operations directly in the Settings without having to access the network.
Xbox: similar to the Microsoft 365 card, users will be able to view subscription status and manage subscriptions from the Settings application.
Bluetooth devices: users can quickly access and connect to the most commonly used Bluetooth devices.
Note: this feature is only available for Windows 11 Home Edition and Professional Edition, not for organizational and managed devices, and is currently available only for some Dev Preview users.
Restore backup supports more applications this version extends backup and recovery functions and supports more applications. Users will now see restored desktop application pushpins on the taskbar and start menu, including desktop applications that are not installed from Microsoft Store.
Users can start restoring Microsoft Store desktop applications by clicking on apply pin. For applications not provided in Microsoft Store, users will be directed to the network to download the installer.
After upgrading to this version and backing up through the new Windows backup application or by accessing the account / Windows backup in the settings, you can restore the backup during the out-of-the-box experience (OOBE) when setting up your new computer, or reset your computer to the backed up version.
Local support for reading more file formats as announced by Microsoft at the Build conference in May, this version adds native support for reading other archive file formats using libarchive open source projects, such as:
.tar
.tar.gz
.tar.bz2
.tar.zst
.tar.xz
.tgz
.tbz2
.tzst
.txz

New Volume Mixer experience in Quick setup Microsoft introduced a new enhanced volume mixer in Quick setup, which allows quick audio customization on a per-application basis and provides additional control to dynamically swap devices.
Microsoft has also added new keyboard shortcuts (WIN + CTRL + V) that give users direct access to the volume mixer for faster control of the experience.
Japanese and English (British) narrator Natural Voice Microsoft will introduce new Japanese and English (British) natural voice, making it more comfortable for narrator users to browse the web, read and write emails, and do more. The natural narrator's voice will use the text-to-voice technology on modern devices and can be used without networking after download.
