CTOnews.com, June 30 (Xinhua)-- A factory-sealed original iPhone from 2007 will be auctioned tomorrow, with an estimated transaction price of more than $100000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 724000 yuan).

The original unsealed iPhone had previously sold for as much as $63000 (currently about 456000 yuan), but they were all 8GB models, while the original iPhone at auction was the 4GB model, which was even rarer.

LCG Auctions explained that when Apple launched the original iPhone 16 years ago (June 29, 2007), it was available in both 4GB and 8GB models. The 8GB model was more popular, so Apple stopped producing the 4GB model a few months later and introduced a higher 16GB model instead.

Sales of the original iPhone of the 4GB model are very limited, and it is even rarer to retain the unopened package until now.

Mark Montero, founder of LCG Auctions, commented, CTOnews.com translated as follows: "based on our record sales and the fact that the 4GB model is 20 times rarer than the 8GB model, I wouldn't be surprised that this original iPhone has set a new auction record."
