Under the agreement, Microsoft and OpenAI will work with Moody's to develop an AI assistant to help Moody's customers analyze large amounts of information for risk assessment. The AI assistant is named "Moody's Research Assistant" (Moody's Research Assistant,MRA).

Rob Fauber, CEO of Moody's, said MRA would be launched for customers such as analysts, bankers, consultants, researchers and investors, with a version for some customers later this year. Microsoft is the largest investor in OpenAI. Nowadays, more and more enterprise customers want to use Microsoft's Azure OpenAI service to access OpenAI's AI model from the cloud. These customers can use OpenAI's ChatGPT and GPT4 language generation and chat bots to write their own applications for employees and customers. Microsoft said 2000 new customers had signed up for the service in the first month and a half of the quarter.
