Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, June 29, Tencent Wechat team released the latest statement on university rates, saying that the adjustment was intended to implement more refined preferential measures, but there were misunderstandings in the communication.
Statement
Due to our poor transmission of individual adjustment of payment rates for college life service scenarios, resulting in misunderstandings and troubles, I would like to apologize to the majority of schools and teachers and students. Please rest assured that in the campus non-profit scenario, we will continue to maintain the zero rate preferential policy.
We urgently reviewed the whole incident. Since 2015, WeChat Pay has continued to adopt a zero-rate preferential policy in non-profit scenarios such as campus. With the continuous increase of campus scenes and the number of merchants, we find that some profitable scenarios such as e-commerce and wine travel squeeze zero-rate education subsidy resources, resulting in rising costs. The purpose of this adjustment is to clarify this small part of the profit scene and implement the preferential rate policy which is lower than the market average, while all campus non-profit scenarios continue to maintain the zero rate preferential policy.
The original intention is to implement more refined preferential measures for the rate, but there is a misunderstanding in the communication, for which we apologize and correct it immediately. In the follow-up, we will continue to optimize the communication process with colleges and universities, strengthen cooperation, and promote the sustainable development of campus digitization.
Q: has the rate of tuition and fees changed or not?
A: the preferential policy of zero rate for campus tuition and fees has been maintained from beginning to end, and the relevant changes never involve such scenarios.
Since 2015, WeChat Pay has adopted a zero-rate preferential policy in campus non-profit scenarios from beginning to end, and the relevant changes have never involved such scenarios. WeChat Pay will continue to subsidize the resulting access and operating costs.
Q: the rate is going to be adjusted to 6/1000 outside. Is it true?
A: it's not true.
Q: what is the real situation? Why do you want to change?
A: with the continuous increase in the number of campus scenes and merchants, we find that some e-commerce, wine tours and other profit scenes crowd out zero-rate education subsidy resources, resulting in an increasing channel and operating costs. therefore, the campus profit scene rate has been carefully managed, and the rate is planned to be adjusted to 0.2%, of which WeChat Pay actually charges 0.1%. The other 0.1% is paid as a technical service fee to the partners who provide services and technical support to the school, and the 0.6% reported by the outside world is pure misinformation.
Q: what are you going to do now?
A: due to our inadequate consideration of the division of campus profit scenarios, the original rate adjustment involves the life service scenarios operated by the main body of the school. After collecting and feedback from all parties, we have decided to maintain the preferential policy of zero rate for the above life service scenarios. At the same time, we will still provide 0.1% technical service fee to the partners who provide services and technical support to the school.
In the future, we will be more cautious in the communication of relevant rate policies and fully communicate with our partners to better promote digital development.
CTOnews.com reported earlier that as WeChat Pay will charge a handling fee of 0.6 per cent, a number of colleges and universities across the country recently issued a notice saying that the use of WeChat Pay would be suspended from July 1.
In response, WeChat Pay official responded earlier, "since 2015, WeChat Pay has been entering the campus, giving a preferential policy of zero rate for non-profit payment scenarios on campus (tuition and fees, living services, etc.) for a long time. Continue to invest in bank access fees and other costs. For the campus non-profit payment scenarios (tuition and fees, living services, etc.) will continue to maintain the preferential policy of zero rate. Recently, WeChat Pay launched a communication among merchants for the fine management of rates in the campus industry. after early opinion collection and feedback, it is proposed to continue to provide services at preferential rates lower than the average market level only for a small number of profitable scenarios such as e-commerce and wine travel. "
After that, the official Weibo team of Tencent Wechat forwarded the above-mentioned WeChat Pay's response and issued an apology statement, saying that it had caused everyone's trouble due to poor handling of the payment rate for university life service scenarios. I would like to apologize to the school, teachers and students.
The Wechat team also said that please rest assured that the zero-rate preferential policy will be maintained in the campus non-profit scenario. "We urgently reviewed the whole incident. Since 2015, WeChat Pay continues to adopt a zero-rate preferential policy in campus and other non-profit scenarios, but due to our lack of fine management of rates, as the number of campus scenes and merchants continues to rise. A large number of profit scenes involving e-commerce and wine travel occupy zero-rate subsidy resources, resulting in rising costs, for which the cost of bank access exceeds 1 billion yuan. "
It is said that with the continuous increase in the number of campus scenes and merchants, some e-commerce, wine travel and other profit scenes squeeze zero-rate education subsidy resources, resulting in a continuous increase in access and operating costs, so the campus profit scene rates have been carefully managed. It is planned to adjust the rate to 0.2%, of which WeChat Pay actually charges 0.1%. The other 0.1% is paid as a technical service fee to the partners who provide services and technical support to the school, and the 0.6% reported by the outside world is pure misinformation.
According to the Wechat team, the adjustment will only implement a preferential rate policy below the market average for a small number of for-profit scenarios such as e-commerce and wine travel, while campus non-profit scenarios will continue to maintain zero rates. The original intention of this adjustment is to implement more refined preferential measures for the rates, but it is obviously too simple and rude to cause misunderstandings. I apologize for this and amend it immediately. In the follow-up, we will continue to optimize the communication process with colleges and universities and strengthen cooperation to promote the sustainable development of campus digitization.
