However, as soon as the phone was launched, many users reported that there were quality problems with the phone.

According to a user on Reddit, less than five hours after he received the Pixel Fold phone, he found that the screen protective film on the inner screen began to fall off and scratches appeared on the screen. He said he hadn't even watched the video on the inner screen. He just spent hours setting up his phone and only turned on the inner screen three times. He contacted Google customer service, which asked him to remove the screen protector and send them photos. After carefully removing the screen protector, the laminate on the screen bulged from the middle and emitted spider web cracks outward.

In addition to this user, there are other Pixel Fold phone users who also report similar problems. One reader of the PhoneArena website said his device had a slight crack in the frame of the inner screen. Google agreed to provide him with a replacement, but asked him to provide a credit card number to freeze funds equivalent to the price of a new mobile phone. Or he can send back a defective phone, but he may have to wait up to 10 working days to receive a new phone. Another user from the UK reported that pink lines appeared on the inner screen just two hours after he got the new phone.

In fact, before the launch of the Pixel Fold phone, Ron Amadeo, editor of the Ars Technica website, wrote that the display was broken after four days of using the phone.

This is reminiscent of what happened before the Samsung Galaxy Fold phone went on sale in April 2019, when some people invited to evaluate the phone tore off the protective plastic layer on the inner screen, causing damage to the display. Although Samsung attached a warning to its phones that the protective layer should not be removed, many people did so. In the end, the phone went on sale in September 2019 after a delay of more than five months.
