CTOnews.com June 29 news, Proton's password manager Pass in April this year after the launch of public beta, announced today for desktop, mobile (iOS / Android) official release.

Proton CEO Andy Yen posted a blog post today, translated by CTOnews.com, which reads as follows:

We are pleased to announce the global launch of Proton Pass, an extension to Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave and more, as well as iPhone / iPad and Android devices.

Since we launched our encrypted email service Proton Mail in 2014, Proton Pass Password Manager has been one of the most needed services in Proton's annual community survey.

Proton says Proton Pass has the advantage of enabling end-to-end encryption of all fields, including usernames and URLs, compared to other mainstream password managers.

Proton Pass uses strong bcrypt password hashing, using Secure Remote Passwords (SRPs) to strengthen authentication. Proton Pass is also one of the first password managers to fully integrate the two-factor authenticator (2FA) and support 2FA auto-population.
