Its Model A flying car made its debut in October 2022 and is now preparing to go into production. Recently, the company became the first flying car company to obtain a special airworthiness certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This means that the company can conduct flight tests in airspace and destinations approved by US government agencies.

FAA is the agency responsible for the formulation and enforcement of civil aviation regulations in the United States. for the emerging field of flying vehicles, FAA is formulating a policy on electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles.

Special Airworthiness Certificate is an FAA certification for the safety and airworthiness of aircraft to ensure the safe operation of related aircraft and can be used for personal, restricted, light sports, experimental and special purpose flights in approved US airspace. Aircraft holding the certificate usually cannot be leased or carry passengers. In addition, the aircraft holding the license must report any faults or defects to the FAA during development and testing.

As for where Alef will conduct flight tests, it has not yet been officially announced. In essence, FAA's certificate will allow Alef to start testing Model A before releasing models with these features to the public.

It is reported that the Model A, which costs $300000, can carry "one or two passengers" and can fly 110miles in the air and 200miles on the ground.
