CTOnews.com, June 28 (Xinhua)-- India is preparing to provide subsidies to companies that produce grid batteries to increase the proportion of clean energy, according to the Financial Times.

▲ Touyuan: Panasonic Energy, the draft subsidy stipulates that up to 216 billion rupees (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 19.008 billion yuan) will be provided to companies that produce batteries for power grids by 2030. The money will be used to support battery manufacturers'R & D and production to help them build large-scale battery packs with a capacity of 500 billion watts in India.

CTOnews.com noted that this is the first case in India to subsidize batteries used in the grid. Previously, India's subsidies for batteries were mainly supplied to battery manufacturers for electric vehicles. Fossil fuels currently account for about 3/4 of India's electricity generation, and the subsidy will help it transform clean energy.
