CTOnews.com, June 28, Volvo is the latest and the first European automaker to announce its support for Tesla electric vehicle charging standard (North American charging Standard or NACS). Tesla's charging standard has recently been approved by a number of automakers and charging station operators.

According to an official announcement, Volvo has reached an agreement similar to that of other automakers with Tesla, which will allow Volvo electric car users to use the 12000 supercharging stations built by Tesla around the world. Starting in 2025, Volvo will install NACS ports on its new electric vehicles.

Volvo will provide a Tesla NACS to CCS adapter in mid-2024 for Volvo electric vehicles that are currently on the market or are about to go on sale, including the XC40, C40 Recharge, EX30 and EX90. Volvo also said that users can find the location of Tesla's supercharging station in its Volvo Cars app.

CTOnews.com previously reported that large automakers such as Ford, General Motors and Rivian have also announced their support for Tesla's NACS standard, which is replacing the widely used CCS standard. Tesla's NACS standard is expected to promote the development and unification of the electric vehicle industry.
