In the conversation, Nadella mentioned that Microsoft aims to reach $500 billion (currently about 3.62 trillion yuan) in revenue in fiscal year 2030, more than double its current size.

Nadella will achieve Microsoft's 2030 goals "by implementing an evolving strategy, growth-oriented and in line with our enduring mission and culture," the report said. Nadella also outlined forecasts for shareholder returns, which come in the form of dividends and buybacks, with an annual return of 10%.

In the memo, Nadella said that the main driver of the company's business growth was Microsoft's cloud services, which included a suite of products for commercial customers, such as Azure Public Cloud, some productivity software from Microsoft 365 and some products from LinkedIn, and that "the top priority is to maintain a faster growth rate than the market, catch up with Amazon AWS and continue to stay ahead of Google GCP."

Currently, the FTC is trying to block Microsoft's acquisition of game publisher Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion because it "may change Activision Blizzard's operations and business plans" and could lead to Microsoft's access to sensitive corporate information.
